Spacious and modern, the Fiat 500L is a compact car with a surprising amount of room and storage space contained within. Fiat states that the 'L' in the range title stands for 'large', putting emphasis on its capacity and overall style. Four trim levels are featured in the 500L range: the Pop, the Pop Star, the Lounge, and the Trekking.
With its rounded exterior design, the visual impression the 500L gives off is of a tough and reliable vehicle. It utilises Fiat's design language through its iconic rounded headlights, and features a sloping windscreen for a comprehensive view of the road ahead. Three colours are available to customise the 500L's body colour, and 16-inch alloy wheels are included as standard.
Inside, the body-coloured dashboard carries through the theme of the exterior style, providing an overall sense of unity to the 500L experience. Multimedia functionality is provided through the five-inch touchscreen UConnect radio, which also has Bluetooth® capabilities. The 500L also has the distinction of being the most spacious vehicle in its class, with 400 litres of luggage space available in the boot, and 22 storage compartments positioned throughout the vehicle. Fiat's seating system offers high levels of
flexibility, with over 1,500 different seat combinations possible.
Petrol or diesel engines are available to power the 500L, giving between 0.9 and 1.6 litres of capacity. The range can achieve a combined fuel consumption of 67.3mpg, and CO2 emissions of 112g/km. Motorists can choose between six-speed manual transmission, or MTA Dualogic transmission.
The 500L has been awarded the five-star Euro NCAP safety award, confirming it as one of the safest vehicles available to drive today. Six airbags are included as standard, protecting the vehicle occupants from all sides. The Electronic Stability Control (ESC) includes a number of drive safety assistant systems, and Hill Holder technology ensures that starting from an incline will be a stress-free experience.
