Designed with comfort in mind, the Hyundai ix20 holds a luxurious interior with flexible ways to configure the seating, as well as simple and innovative ways to access the space contained within. Featuring high front seats and a dual height boot, Hyundai has ensured that motorists will not strain themselves either entering or exiting the vehicle, or when lifting items in or out of the boot space.
The exterior design takes advantage of Hyundai's fluidic design language to deliver a car with smooth curves and an aerodynamic design. This enables the car to move smoothly and cut through the air with reduced air-resistance, increasing the vehicle's speed and improving handling. Solid, metallic and pearlescent paint is available to customise the vehicle, and 15-inch or 16-inch alloy wheels are given depending on the vehicle model.
Inside, drivers will find themselves able to adjust the height of their seat, while the rear seats have the capability of sliding and reclining. Storage solutions are included throughout the vehicle, and higher trim levels have stylish leather fittings for the gear knob and steering wheel. Entertainment is provided by the stereo RDS radio and CD player, which includes MP3 compatibility, and six speakers included as standard.
Two petrol and two diesel engines are available for the ix20, giving capacity of either 1.4 or 1.6 litres. These are offered in either manual or automatic versions, and all models are four-cylinder. The top speed of the ix20 is 114mph, and it can reach 0-60mph in under 15 seconds. It has a combined fuel consumption of 62.8mpg, and CO2 emissions that can be as low as 117g/km.
The level of safety features included within the ix20 has won it the five-star Euro NCAP award, giving official recognition to its exemplary safety features. These include six airbags situated around the cabin, ABS, EBD and ESP, and ISOFIX child seat anchors on the rear outer seats.
