New Hyundai Veloster
Rumours of the introduction of the new Hyundai Veloster have circulated for a number of years, and now the sleek three-door coupe has made its debut at the 2011 Detroit Motor Show. The exterior of the Hyundai Veloster has taken inspiration from a high-performance sport bike, with distinctive black A-pillars giving the glass the appearance of a motorcycle helmet. A hexagonal front grille gives the Veloster an almost aggressive frontage and unique LED lights further add to its individuality.
The new Hyundai Veloster gets its power from an all-new Gamma 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine. This is the smallest engine to use Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) produced by Hyundai. This delivers an impressive 138 bhp and returns a respectable 40mpg. At the rear, dual centred chrome exhaust tips and a black lower fascia complements the overall simply striking appearance. 17" alloy wheels perfect the look.
If you find that climbing into the rear of a coupe is sometimes difficult, then this car could be the one for you! Hyundai have conveniently placed a hinged door on the passenger side of the car, but have cleverly hidden the handle to maintain the coupe appearance. This 'secret' door opens onto wonderfully spacious rear seats. The motorcycle theme is continued inside. The centre stack and controls resemble that of a motorbike fuel tank and floor console mirrors are inspired by the seat of a bike.
The staggering list of equipment in the new Hyundai Veloster will include technologies that will make this car one of the most enjoyable cars to drive on the market.
