THIRTEEN members of staff at our Hadfield Road dealership in Cardiff raised £512 for charity last Sunday (March 8, 2015) after taking part in a five kilometre run in fancy dress.
The employees signed up for the George Thomas Hospice Care Charity 5K Run on Sunday, March 8 at Bute Park.
Gareth Howells, our General Manager at the dealership, who took part in the run, said: “It's fantastic that so many of our staff members took part to raise funds for our charity of the year. I want to say a huge 'thank you' to everyone who signed up. Thanks also to all the friends, family and customers who sponsored us too.
“We're delighted to have raised £512 and can't wait to add to this throughout the year with other fundraising events. George Thomas Hospice Care is such a vital lifeline for so many people and their families in the local area.
“For the run we dressed up as Albert Einstein so people could spot us easily on route. We decided to dress as the famous scientist and renowned genius as our company strapline is 'Wessex Garages – The Intelligent Choice' so it seemed fitting.
“Our New Car Sales Executive, Amy Wyllie and Digital Sale Executive, Matt Jones were the first people in the team to finish the run. They did it in under 30 minutes but all our runners crossed the finish line in under 40 minutes, which was a great achievement.”
