CARDIFF folk are invited next Thursday (December 10, 2015) to a free festive charity evening at our Hadfield Road dealership with live music from Only Men Aloud.
The event is in aid of George Thomas Hospice Care and is a chance for people to browse craft stalls, pick up exclusive sporting and movie memorabilia and also listen to Only Men Aloud.
Gareth Howells, General Manager at dealership, explained: “We’re hosting the Christmas party on Thursday, December 10 from 6.30pm until 8.30pm to raise money for our dealership’s chosen Charity of the Year, George Thomas Hospice Care in Cardiff. It provides specialist home-based palliative care for people suffering from cancer and other life threatening illnesses.
“As well as the craft stalls, Only Men Aloud will also be singing a selection of Christmas Carols during the evening. We are also relying upon our customers to assist them with a few of the classics.
“The event is a family occasion with free festive food and drink, Santa’s grotto and a gingerbread decorating competition.
“There will also be a charity auction with items such as exclusive Star Wars memorabilia, signed Cardiff Blues items and other rare sporting memorabilia. The Cardiff Blues players will also be hosting an autograph session during the evening.”
The Christmas extravaganza will be hosted by champion boxer and George Thomas Hospice Care Corporate Fundraising & Events Manager, Nicky Piper MBE.
There will be a variety of crafters selling their wares such as decorations, jewellery, cushions, bags, aprons, scarves, soaps, candles, cupcakes and sweets.
Gareth added: “It will be a chance for people to get in the festive spirit and browse the stalls for some great gifts and decorations while also raising money for a local charity. We hope lots of families attend to kick off the festive season.”
Only Men Aloud is a Cardiff-based group, which was formed by Tim Rhys-Evans, who is a classically trained singer and former musical director of the Welsh National Youth Opera. In 2008 the group won the BBC’s Last Choir Standing competition.
George Thomas Hospice Care was established in 1984 and has helped more than 24,000 patients and their families in Cardiff. It is committed to personal dignity, quality of life and the highest possible standards of care and service.
