Staff at our Used Supercentre in Bristol have this month (February, 2016) announced their chosen Charity of the Year.
Throughout 2016 the team will be fundraising for The Rainbow Centre for Children, which provides professional therapeutic support to children and their families affected by life threatening illness and bereavement.
Rachel Perry, our Service Manager at the dealership on Pennywell Road, said: “We will lend support to The Rainbow Centre for Children in any way we can, whether it’s through promoting the work they do on social media or lending a hand at fundraisers and hosting our own events.
“We are really excited to be working with the charity throughout 2016 and are looking forward to raising funds to help the charity continue its amazing work with children and families in Bristol.”
Staff at the dealership will be doing a variety of fundraising events for the charity during the year. The first event will be a Rainbow Day on Friday, March 4. Staff will be dressed in rainbow colours and donating money to the charity.
The Rainbow Centre for Children is based on Lilymead Avenue in Knowle and offers art and music therapies, counselling, support and information. At The Rainbow Centre staff believe in treating the whole person, rather than isolated symptoms, providing a range of therapies, which may help to restore physical and emotional balance.
The centre has a policy of self-referral so families in need of its help just need to call and the charity can discuss how it could help.
Deborah Hill, Fundraising & Finance Director at The Rainbow Centre for Children, said: “We’re over the moon that Wessex Garages has chosen The Rainbow Centre for Children to be its Charity of the Year for 2016.
“All our services are provided free of charge and we rely entirely upon charitable donations to be able to continue our work. Wessex Garages support throughout 2016 is greatly appreciated.”
