CARDIFF residents are this month (September, 2016) being given an opportunity to get rid of their old clothes and raise money for charity thanks to a car dealership in the city.
People can take any unwanted clothes to our branch on Hadfield Road where they will be donated to George Thomas Hospice Care to sell in its shops to raise money.
Gareth Howells, General Manager explained: “George Thomas Hospice Care is our Charity of the Year and we are always looking for ways we can fundraise for them.
“We have a collection point in the dealership where people can drop off any clean, unwanted clothes they have. All donations must be useable and of saleable quality.
“Everything that is donated will be given to George Thomas Hospice Care to sell in its shops so the better the quality of your items, the more money we can raise. We are aiming to raise more than £500 before the end of the year so we hope lots of people will help us to reach our target.”
George Thomas Hospice Care was established in 1984 and has helped more than 24,000 patients and their families in Cardiff. It is committed to personal dignity, quality of life and the highest possible standards of care and service.
The services George Thomas Hospice Care provides are free of charge. It offers a number of services at its Hospice Centre based in Whitchurch Hospital Grounds, however much of its work takes place in its patients’ homes.
Nicky Piper MBE, Corporate Fundraising & Events Manager for George Thomas Hospice Care, said: “It’s fantastic that Wessex Garages is providing people with a collection point. It is an easy way for people to help us raise funds and also clear out some much needed space for their new winter wardrobe.”
We have outlets in Bristol, Cardiff, Gloucester and Newport. We specialise in new and used car sales across South Wales and the South West.
