Learn about the Leaf in Welsh

People visiting one of our Cardiff dealerships from this month (November, 2014) onwards can get information on the Nissan Leaf in Welsh thanks to a poster designed by a child in the city.

The poster, which is on display at our outlet on Hadfield Road, was designed by six-year-old Danny Thorne and will enable Welsh speakers to find out more about the all-electric vehicle.

Gareth Howells, our General Manager at the dealership, said: “As part of a school project Danny had to create a poster in Welsh about something environmentally-friendly. His Dad, Carl is our Electric Vehicle Specialist at the dealership so he chose to write about the Nissan Leaf.

“We were so impressed with Danny’s work that we decided to put it on display at the dealership.

“It also means that any Welsh speakers who visit us will be able to get information on the car in the language too.”

The Nissan Leaf is the world’s best-selling electric car and is built in Sunderland. The vehicle also benefits from the Government’s plug-in grant. The Government contributes 25%, up to a maximum of £5,000, towards the cost automatically bringing down the purchase price.

Danny, who is a pupil at Ysgol Gymraeg Pwll Coch on Lawrenny Avenue in Cardiff, added: “I really enjoyed learning about the Nissan Leaf and I’m pleased my poster will be on display at the dealership.”
