AN 11-YEAR-OLD from Newport had one of his dreams come true yesterday (Thursday, July 16, 2015) thanks to our help.
Michael Griffiths, who suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, arrived at his school prom in style in one of our Nissan GT-R supercars.
We were delighted we could act as Michael's fairy godmother and make one of his wishes come true with a trip in a Nissan GT-R.
We picked him up from his house and made the special journey to Crindau Primary School so he could show the car off to his friends, before taking him on to the prom at the Hilton in Langstone.
A prom is a very special event and we were pleased we could make it extra special for Michael. We also presented him with a selection of GT-R goodies.
We organised the trip with Tŷ Hafan, which was previously one of our charities of the year. Michael and his family get support from the organisation and staff told us about his dream car. We were so happy we could help.
Tŷ Hafan was established in 1999 and offers comfort, care and support for life-limited children and young people in Wales. It is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the whole family free of charge. The charity has helped more than 600 families.
Michael said: “I have always wanted to have a ride in a GT-R it is my dream car. Thank you to Tŷ Hafan and Wessex Garages for making my dream come true. The car was amazing."
Simon Clement, who works in Digital Production at Wessex Garages with Michael Griffiths and the GT-R.
