Staff at our Pennywell Road – Used Supercentre in Bristol raised £77.90 last Friday (March 4, 2016) by hosting a Rainbow Non-Uniform Day to fundraise for its Charity of the Year.
The team wore bright, rainbow coloured clothing on March 4 and donated money to The Rainbow Centre for Children, which provides professional therapeutic support to children and their families affected by life threatening illness and bereavement.
Rachel Perry, Service Manager at the dealership, said: “We kick-started our fundraising activities off by hosting a Rainbow Day. We’re delighted we managed to raise £77.90 for the charity. Our aim is to raise at least £3,000 for the cause during 2016.”
Rachel won the staff vote for the most colourful dressed and won a £10 voucher for Cabot Circus.
The Rainbow Centre for Childrenis based on Lilymead Avenue in Knowle and offers art and music therapies, counselling, support and information. At The Rainbow Centre staff believe in treating the whole person, rather than isolated symptoms, providing a range of therapies, which may help to restore physical and emotional balance.
The centre has a policy of self-referral so families in need of its help just need to call and the charity can discuss how it could help.
Rachel added: “This is just the start of the fundraising activities we will be doing this year in aid of the charity. We have various other events planned throughout 2016.
“We have set up a Just Giving page for The Rainbow Centre for Children for the year so our customers can donate online. Please visit www.justgiving.com/Wessex-Garages2016/.”
