STAFF at our Nissan dealerships in Cardiff, Bristol and Gloucester are celebrating this week (January 18, 2016) after the Qashqai was named as What Car? Magazine’s Best Small SUV for the third year running.
We are inviting people to take a closer look at the vehicle and test drive it during a five day ‘Winners Event’ from January 22 until 26 at our showrooms on Hadfield Road in Cardiff, Hayes Way at Cribbs Causeway in Bristol and Mercia Road in Gloucester.
Gareth Howells, General Manager at Wessex Garages on Hadfield Road, explained: “It is fantastic news that the British-built crossover has just been named What Car? magazine’s Best Small SUV for the third year running. It has also been named the magazine’s ‘Best Buy’ between £15,000 and £25,000.
“The Qashqai has been an incredible success for Nissan, winning so many awards and becoming the nation’s sixth bestselling car in a relatively short space of time.
“What Car?’s pick of the Qashqai line-up was the 1.5dCi 110 n-tec with the judges praising the model’s efficiency and economy, refined diesel power plant, smooth suspension and interior quality as well as generous equipment levels.
“This latest award makes it three in a row for the Qashqai and so we wanted to celebrate in the best way possible by offering our customers an even more special deal on their favourite model.”
Wessex Garages is offering a series of short-term deals on some of its most popular models to celebrate the Qashqai’s latest award win.
Gareth added: “We will mark the win with a special five-day ‘Winners Event’ from Friday, January 22 until Tuesday, January 26 at our Nissan dealerships.
“As part of the event, customers purchasing a vehicle on a 0% or 4.99% PCP finance deal will qualify for an additional £500 contribution towards their deposit.
“Best of all the deal is not restricted to Qashqai buyers. Those opting for the chic Micra supermini, Note and Pulsar family hatchbacks and Juke and X-Trail crossovers, can also benefit. X-Trail customers will also qualify for free servicing.”
In September 2015 the new Qashqai became the fastest ever UK-built vehicle to smash the half million production mark. Since production began in 2014, a new Qashqai has been built every 62 seconds, or 58 per hour, at the Sunderland plant’s Line 1.
Jim Holder, Editorial Director for Haymarket, which publishes What Car?, said: “The Qashqai makes it a hat trick with yet another win in this hotly contested category. Despite strong opposition, the SUV from Sunderland possesses all the necessary talents for victory.
“Not only is it one of the most economical and least-polluting vehicles in this category, it also has a high-quality interior that keeps wind, engine and road noise at bay.
“Excellent practicality, a chassis that is well suited to British roads and impressive engine refinement are the icing on the cake.”
