Wessex help couple celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

A BRISTOL couple who are celebrating their 50th golden wedding anniversary tomorrow (Saturday, June 25, 2016) have received a cake and a charity donation from our Feeder Road dealership in the city.

Anthony and Celia Smith from Long Ashton will have been married for 50 years on June 25 and we have given the couple £50, £1 for each year of their marriage, to be donated to their chosen charities.

Keith Brock, our Managing Director, said: “We would like to say a huge congratulations to Anthony and Celia on their special wedding anniversary. As well as the money to their chosen charities, which are Parkinson’s UK and the British Lung Foundation, we also decided to present the wonderful couple with a golden cake to help them celebrate.

“Anthony and Celia are loyal customers of ours and purchased a Kia Sportage GT-Line earlier this year. We were only too happy to help them with their anniversary celebrations. On Saturday, June 25 the couple will mark the event with family and friends at the Marriott Royal Hotel in Bristol, where they held their wedding reception all those years ago. We wish them a fantastic day.”

The couple, who have lived in Bristol all their life, are asking their guests not to give them presents but to donate to either Parkinson’s UK or the British Lung Foundation.

Anthony, who is 72-years-old, said: “Celia and I would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Wessex Garages for the beautiful cake and the charity donation. It means a lot to us.”
