Wessex to help fireworksdisplay go off with a bang

TWO of our dealerships in Bristol are helping the city’s biggest fireworks display in aid of charity go off with a big bang in November thanks to their sponsorship for the second year running.

Downend Round Table’s fireworks display, which takes place on November 4 at The King George V playing fields on Westerleigh Road in aid of Bristol and Bath Group of the Motor Neurone Disease Assocation, is being backed by Wessex Garages’ Used Car Super Centre and Nissan Cribbs Causeway dealership.

James Monteith, Chairman of the Downend Round Table, explained: “It is great news that Wessex Garages will be sponsoring our fireworks display again this year. We are able to plan and put together a great show thanks to the backing of Wessex and our other sponsors.

“The show is in its 45th year and visitors can expect to see a bonfire, children’s display, main display, live music and fire jugglers along with food, drink and funfair stands. Wessex will be on-site during the show, so keep an eye out for their representatives and vehicles.”

Wessex Garages will be displaying a selection of new and used vehicles during the event.

Staff will also be handing out glow sticks to children as well as running a competition for people to win £200 of shopping vouchers.

People over the age of 18 who visit the Wessex Garages stand at the event will be able to enter a competition to win £200 of shopping vouchers. They will need to fill in a form and answer a fireworks related question.

It is free to enter and a winner will be picked at random within 14 days of the event. They will be contacted via details submitted on the entry form.

Simon Newson, General Manager at Wessex Garages’ Cribbs Causeway dealership, explained: “This is the second year we have sponsored the fireworks display and we are proud to be part of such a huge community event and helping to raise money for worthwhile causes.

“It promises to be a great night for all the family with live entertainment, fairground rides, food & drink, a children’s show and of course lots of impressive fireworks.

“Our team will be on hand during the evening to answer any questions people may have about the cars on display.”

The fireworks display will take place at The King George V playing fields on Westerleigh Road in Downend, Bristol.

Advance tickets cost £5 and can be purchased from www.downendrt.co.uk. Gates for the display will open to the public at 5.30pm.
