The latest generation Italian model is brimming with personality – this compact car is more customisable than ever. Choose from 14 body colours, six second skins and 13 interior layouts to make it your own. In addition to cheeky styling, the prominent headlights and rear lights bolster your on-road presence.
The four-seat cabin is carefully designed, featuring a host of available fabrics and colours to create a bright space. You can enjoy bucket seats, alloy pedals and a flat-bottomed steering wheel, which contribute to a contemporary look.
A vast and varied selection of trim levels are available to match your individuality: 500 Pop, 500 Pop Star, 500 Lounge, 500S, 500 Mirror, 500 Riva, 500 60th and 500 Anniversario. As standard, you get 14-inch steel wheels, electric front windows and LED daytime running lights. Upgrade to Lounge to enjoy a fixed sunroof and a leather steering wheel with audio controls. Meanwhile, the limited-edition Anniversario comes with a chrome bonnet trim, cool 16-inch vintage alloys, and upholstery with contrasting piping.
In the cleverly designed interior, a comfortable, high-tech cabin comes as standard. Even entry-level models enjoy ventilating and heating, plus USB ports for hooking up your smart device and streaming on the go. Upgraded features include five and seven-inch HD touchscreens with Bluetooth connectivity and Apple CarPlay.
The engine range remains the same in the outgoing model – yet they now offer lowered CO2 emissions and improved fuel economy. For urban driving, the 0.9-litre turbocharged, three-cylinder petrol is a great choice – it’s nippy and returns up to 67.3mpg. There’s also a 1.3-litre diesel option, which only emits 89g/km of CO2 and returns up to 80mpg. As for manoeuvring around town, you can still rely on soft suspension to enhance your enjoyment.
A suite of safety features and driver aids are available with the new Fiat 500. These include advanced stability control which helps you regain control if the car slides, and hill-hold assist to make hill starts simpler. Seven airbags are fitted as standard for all-round protection, while the latest model also benefits from larger brakes.
The Fiat 500 has won numerous awards over the years – including the City Car of the Year in 2016, in the BusinessCar Awards. It also bagged the Best City Car award in the influential Sunday Times Top 100 Cars 2016.
