Great Wessex Bake Off 2018

Milton Parathyras from Venture Photography beat off stiff competition at our annual "Great Wessex Bake Off" last February in Cardiff and helped to raise £220 in aid of our Charity of the Year, City Hospice.

A CARDIFF photographer has retained his title as "Master Baker" at an annual charity bake off event that took place at Wessex Garages Nissan on Hadfield Rd, Cardiff. Nicky Piper MBE, retired Welsh super middleweight boxer from Colwinston, Cardiff judged the competition in aid of City Hospice and crowned Milton Parathyras, of local business, Venture Photography the winner – once again.

Gareth Howells, General Manager at the dealership, explained: “This is the third year that we have held the “Great Wessex Bake Off”, and once again we would like to say a huge congratulations to Milton upon winning the competition and retaining his title."

He created a number of delicious items including Trifle Cup Cakes, Oreo Cup Cakes and Hamburger Cup Cakes, and it was the Trifle Cup Cake that won it for him. Milton beat off stiff competition from Alec Travillian, Wessex Garages’ Fleet Specialist, who baked his famous Chocolate and Bacon Cookies and Milk Chocolate Pecan Crusted Biscuits with Caramel and Chocolate Top. Other members of staff also contributed with many other delicious efforts!

“Throughout the day, our customers were able to pop in and sample the cakes with a cup of tea. We are pleased to announce that we raised £220 in aid of our Charity of the Year, City Hospice from donations made during the event. We would like to say a big thank you for everyone who took part.”

Milton explained: “I am delighted to retain my title ahead of Alec once again. Three years in, it is something which Alec and I take very seriously! I am very pleased it was such a success as the money raised is going to a fantastic cause. Thanks to Wessex Garages for arranging the event.”
