CLAIRE Andrews from Yate has this month (November, 2015) been engaged as the Service Manager for our new purpose-built Nissan dealership in Bristol.
In her new position, the 36-year-old will be the driving force in the Service Department and overseeing 15 members of staff at the new dealership, which will open on December 28.
Claire said: “I am incredibly honoured to have been chosen by Wessex Garages to head up the Service Department at the new Nissan dealership. This will be an exciting new stage in my career and I am very much looking forward to it.
“The workshop will be cutting edge and will be able to be viewed from the waiting area so all work will be transparent, which is one of our mission statements. We aim to create total transparency and trust for our customers.
“It will be a breath of fresh air to the motor trade as nothing will be behind closed doors. The customer waiting area faces onto the workshop so people will be able to see what is happening to their vehicle. This is an amazing adventure for both myself and the team and we cannot wait to get started.”
Claire is the second lady employed by Wessex Garages to do this role, Rachel Perry was its first female Service Manager for its Pennywell Road dealership, which is also located in Bristol.
Keith Brock, Managing Director of Wessex Garages, said: “We would like to welcome Claire to Wessex Garages. She has a wealth of knowledge after 17 years’ in the main dealer sector. She started as a Service Advisor and has worked her way up to the position of a Service Manager, gaining a good reputation and set of skills along the way.
“Prior to her new appointment with us Claire worked as a Service Manager for a major motor brand with a large workshop of 16 technicians.
“During her career the mother-of-one has worked for a number of brands as well as high volume dealers turning over more than 1.2 million per year. Claire has numerous motor trade qualifications including AMA – Automotive Management Accreditation and Level 3 NVQ in Management and Team Leading. Claire will be a great asset to our company and our new Nissan dealership.”
Wessex Garages’ new Nissan dealership will be located on Hayes Way at Cribbs Causeway. It will span just over 18,000 square feet and create at least 30 new jobs. It is a huge investment for Wessex Garages as the whole project will cost in the region of £5million. It will also be a centre for electric vehicles and will be an additional charging point for Bristol.
In her spare time Claire enjoys fishing, mountain biking and dog walking. She is also a Trustee Member for the Ridings Federation of Academies and the Yate International Primary Sector.
