This month (NOVEMBER) our Cribbs Causeway team were delighted to provide a 100% Electric Nissan Leaf for teams from Avon Fire and Rescue along with Gloucestershire Fire Service to use for training.
Over the past 12 months there has been an increase in the use of Electric Vehicles (EV), with Wessex experiencing a 54% increase in sales from Q2 to Q3 this year, this increase has meant that fire crews across the country require specific training for how to deal with an EV during a Road Traffic Accident ensuring safety of firefighters and anyone else involved.
Simon Newson, General Manager from our Cribbs branch said “With the increase in sales and use of electric vehicles it is important that the emergency services are aware of the differences between EV and regular vehicles. I’m told the team had a great day and found it very informative and we’re really pleased we could help our local Fire Services”
