Nearly take off time for flying fundraiser Matt

Matt Llewelyn Jones, Digital Sales Executive at Wessex Garages, gets ready for his charity skydive.

A MEMBER of staff from our dealership on Hadfield Road in Cardiff is preparing to take part in a charity skydive.

Matt Llewelyn Jones, a Digital Sales Executive, will be jumping from a plane on September 6 in aid of George Thomas Hospice Care.

Matt, who lives in Cathays, explained: “I've been meaning to do a charity skydive for years and I'm very excited. I`m not scared of heights but I'm sure I'll feel differently when I'm up there.

“I will be raising money for our dealership's chosen Charity of the Year at the same time. George Thomas Hospice Care provides specialist home-based palliative care for people suffering from cancer and other life threatening illness."

It was established in 1984 and has helped more than 22,000 patients and their families in Cardiff. George Thomas Hospice Care is committed to personal dignity, quality of life and the highest possible standards of care and service.

Matt will be doing a tandem jump on Sunday, September 6 at Swansea Airport with an experienced British Parachute Association Instructor. He will be free falling from 12,000 feet.

The 24-year-old continued: “George Thomas Hospice Care do such a great job supporting local people and their families at such a difficult time. I'm aiming to raise at least £500 for the charity from my skydive."

Matt has been asking for sponsorship via and has also been collecting donations from visitors to the car dealership.
