ECO-CONSCIOUS drivers in Newport will be among the first in the UK to catch a glimpse of Kia’s first electric vehicle this month (December, 2014) at our dealership in the city.
We are one of only 13 dealerships in the UK receiving the Kia Soul EV and will be a specialist centre for the vehicle.
Paul Edwards, our General Manager at the dealership, explained: “We are delighted we’ve been chosen to be a specialist centre for Kia’s first fully battery-electric car the Soul EV.
“Electric cars are gaining popularity especially as they can now deliver a comparable driving experience to their petrol and diesel counterparts.
“It is perfect for those who want a car with a bit of personality but are also environmentally-conscious. With zero-emissions, it’s designed to lower running costs for owners who live, commute or do business in traffic-clogged towns and cities.
“The Soul EV is also eco-friendly inside and out, bio-sourced materials have been used for much of the interior from the padding and trim to the seat fabric and the carpet.”
The Kia Soul EV will benefit from the Government’s plug-in grant. The Government contributes 25%, up to a maximum of £5,000, towards the cost.
Paul added: “A common concern a lot of people have is regarding the range of electric vehicles and getting stranded if it runs out of charge.

In-car entertainment includes a DAB RDS radio with MP3 compatibility, USB and AUX ports and Bluetooth with voice recognition and music streaming.
Paul continued: “As with every new Kia, the Soul EV comes with Kia’s industry-leading and fully-transferable seven year warranty. The warranty is transferable to any subsequent owner should the car be sold before the end of the warranty.
“People who are interested in testing out the Soul EV for themselves can do so when they visit the dealership. We are also happy to give advice to anyone who is thinking about switching to an electric vehicle.”
