The first apprentice parts advisor for Nissan

TOM DEAN from Downend in Bristol has this month (March, 2016) been appointed as the first Apprentice Parts Advisor for our new purpose-built Nissan brand centre.

In his new position, the 17-year-old will work in the parts department at the dealership and take calls and deal with customers face-to-face and also order parts for vehicles.

Lee Rossiter, our Parts Manager at the dealership on Hayes Way at Cribbs Causeway, said: “I’d like to welcome Tom to the aftersales team here at Cribbs Causeway. I’m looking forward to working with him and helping him develop throughout his career. He’ll play an important role here dealing with customers in the showroom and over the phone.

“We are committed to creating total transparency, trust and value for money for our customers and to achieve 100% customer satisfaction. Tom will be trained to a high standard and will be able to help our customers with any questions or requests they have.”

Wessex Garages’ new Nissan dealership spans more than 18,000 square feet and has created at least 40 new jobs. It was huge investment for the company as the whole project cost in the region of £5million.

The centre offers Nissan’s complete range of new vehicles in the brand’s latest retail environment concept. It has been designed to reflect the needs of the modern, tech savvy customer.

Lee added: “The concept is to put the customer at the very heart of the dealership and to remove the traditional physical barriers, such as formal sales desks and computers, giving the centre a very relaxed, coffee shop feel.”

The workshop can be viewed from the waiting area so all work takes place transparently, which is one of the company’s mission statements.

Tom said: “I am delighted I have been given this apprenticeship at Wessex Garages, which is one of the leading car dealerships in the Bristol area. I have always had an interest in cars since I can remember so this is a great route for me to get in to the motor industry.”

Tom attended Downend School and prior to his role at Wessex Garages he was at the Bristol Technology and Engineering Academy in Stoke Gifford. He also did his work experience at Brin Jones Car Body Repair Specialist in Filton. In his spare time Tom attends car shows and enjoys playing football.
