Students host 'Strictly Come Disney' horse dressage for charity

FIVE students at a college in Gloucester are this month (March, 2015) hosting a Disney themed dressage for charity thanks to sponsorship from our dealership on Mercia Road in Gloucester.

The Equine Performance students are hosting the event on Monday, March 23 at Hartpury College in aid of Bristol Zoo and they have had a helping hand from our staff in Gloucester.

Twenty-year-old, Abi Dolphin, who is one of the students hosting the event, explained: “We would like to say a huge 'thank you' to Wessex Garages for sponsoring one of the two Dressage Classes, which will be called Wessex Garages Elementary Class of 2015.

“Meg Batchelor, Clem Seymour, Antonia Cord, Viveka Rathore and I are all on the same course and as part of it we're studying event organisation and this is why we are hosting the Disney dressage event.

“During the evening competitors will have to wear fancy dress while competing on their horses to a Disney soundtrack, which we have picked for them. Some of the horses will be in fancy dress too."

The event will take place on Monday, March 23 from 5.30pm and there will be a surprise demo at 7.30pm for all the spectators. It's free to watch and food and drinks will be available. There will also be a raffle and competitions during the evening.

Darren Preddy, our General Manager at our Mercia Road dealership , explained: “We're delighted we could help the students with their Strictly Come Disney dressage event. It looks to be a great evening and we can't wait to see the horses and their riders in action.

“We will be attending the event with a few of our cars for people to look around including a Fiat 500 and a Kia Sorrento. We will be on-hand to answer any questions people may have about new and used vehicles.

“We will also be filling the Fiat 500 with balloons and the person who guesses the amount correctly will win a car related prize."

People are welcome to enter the dressage and the schedule and entry forms are available from Hartpury Area office. Entry fee is £7.50 per class.

The Strictly Come Disney dressage event will take place at Hartpury College on Monday, March 23 from 5.30pm. It is free to attend.
