Wessex Group Used Car Buyer

The role is to report directly to the Group Used Car Manager to ensure all branches have the correct stocking level to deliver a budgeted performance.

Main Responsibilities

• Weekly Purchase Report
• Review used car valuations provided to customer, and adjust where necessary
• Purchase used car stock to fulfil our dealerships stock requirements
• Measure conversion rates between valuation and purchase, and grow by dealer
• Build and maintain relationships with all dealerships, suppliers, vendors and auction houses
• Arrange deliveries/collection with suppliers
• Liaise with dealerships regarding the sourcing of stock to fit their customers’ requirements
• Liaise with delivery companies, branches and vehicle admin teams to ensure stock arrives promptly to site in the most cost effective manner.
• Control return, credits or disposal of any stock which is not in the condition described at purchase in consultation with the Sales Director.
• A buyers list will be agreed by the Group Used Car Manager to ensure vehicles are bought through the correct channels also with the agreed chassis profit. Only contacts approved by the Group Used Sales Director will be available to purchase from.

The successful candidate must have experience in a similar role and must have a good range of industry contacts and detailed knowledge of multi channel vehicle acquisition . You must demonstrate a high level of IT skill and be able to work as part of a team to source and buy stock in a smooth efficient manner .
