Thanks to the sporty body-kit, go-faster stripes, chunky alloy wheels and Abarth's famous Scorpion badges, it's hard to mistake the Abarth for the Fiat 500 upon which it's based. With its big side skirts, bumpers and rear spoiler, Fiat has found a way to bring it more than a little zing. Much of the front end has been redesigned to accommodate the 1.4-litre engine with its turbo charger, and cool it, hence the deeper, scooped front bumper. With 16-inch eight-spoke alloy wheels and fully-functional twin satin steel rear exhausts, this car really stands out from the crowd.

One of the most important things to remember with the new Abarth range is the endless ability to customise
your car with Abarth kits. The 595 is incredibly modern inside, with striking red stitching and a new instrument panel with seven-inch digital display and TFT (Thin-Film-Transistor) technology. The standard model offers pleasingly supportive fabric bucket seats with plenty of adjustments available. There's a rotary dial for the backrest, a tactile leather steering wheel and sporty-looking metal gear-stick and pedals.

Apart from the seven-inch panel and screen already mentioned, you'll find a host of exceptional technology in the Abarth 595. With Blue&MeTM hands-free system with USB port, Bluetooth® and steering wheel controls, you'll be pleased you chose Abarth. The Sport button on the dashboard makes the drive more taut and composed, whilst also changing the shift from eco to performance mode, giving you more control.

With a 1.4-litre turbo T-Jet petrol engine, the Abarth gets lower suspension and bigger brakes, giving a firm, fast, fun ride. From 0-62mph in under 7.8 seconds, it has exceptional performance, delivering up to 145hp at 5,500rpm and having peak torque of 206Nm at 3,000rpm in 'Sport' mode. With an official fuel consumption figure of 35.8mpg and CO2 emissions of 139g/km, the Abarth 595 is a highly efficient little car.

The Abarth 595 comes with an impressive safety kit, with Hill Hold assist and Torque Transfer Control (TTC), which ensures that the car behaves impeccably on bends. There are seven driver, passenger, side, curtain and knee airbags, and the 595's rear parking sensors and compact body ensure perfect parking every time. ISOFIX rear seat mounting points are also present, giving the car top marks for child-friendliness, as well as for performance and style.
