Nissan’s Electric Encounters Live tour, organised to showcase All New LEAF and All New MICRA at dealerships nationwide, has concluded its four-month odyssey around the UK.
The tour team have visited dozens of Nissan showrooms across the country since beginning their travels in October last year. Two of the final stops were Stoneacre sites in Liverpool and Grimsby – and All New LEAF and MICRA proved a huge draw at both locations.
David Kirkby, Sales Manager at Stoneacre Liverpool, said: ‘‘Our event – shown in the three images above – went extremely well and there was a good turnout of visitors.
‘‘We now have around 15 customers waiting to take test-drives as soon as LEAF and MICRA arrive on-site with us.
‘‘All those who attended gave us great feedback about both cars. We are delighted that everything went so well and we can’t wait to hand the first of these amazing new cars over to customers.’’
Andy Craven, Regional General Manager at Stoneacre Nissan Grimsby, said: ‘‘Our Electric Encounters Live day – shown in the trio of pictures above – was great! We had fantastic levels of attendance at both sessions – especially considering the atrocious weather on the day.
‘‘The members of the event team were very helpful; our team worked hard too; and we enjoyed fantastic levels of engagement all round.’’
Andy added: ‘‘It’s my second launch for both cars so I’m showing my age and the number of years I’ve been working in the Nissan network!’’
As with previous stops on the tour, guests at the Liverpool and Grimsby events enjoyed some great entertainment. A retro-style grabber machine proved popular, with prizes awarded to lucky winners.
For those feeling peckish, Japanese-inspired refreshments were on offer. A creative colouring wall kept visitors occupied while an AI photo booth let attendees create amusing, high-tech self-portraits.
The stars of the show, of course, were the cars themselves. Since the first edition of the LEAF made its debut in 2010, it has sold close to 700,000 units worldwide, earning its place in history as the world’s first mass-market electric vehicle.
Now, Nissan is ushering in a new chapter for the nameplate, re-designed and re-engineered to meet the needs of modern EV customers, while remaining true to its roots
Meanwhile, All-New MICRA returns as a fully connected, pure EV.
Combining an assertive personality with zero-emission mobility, it remains a stylish and unpretentious choice; characteristics that have underpinned its popularity across five generations and more than 40 years. Like LEAF, MICRA also offers the latest safety technology and Google Built-In.
A Nissan spokesperson said: ‘‘It’s wonderful to hear from our dealers that our Electric Encounters Live tour has been so successful for them. Hundreds of customers inspected All New LEAF and All New MICRA during the four months of the tour and it won’t be long now until we’re seeing both of these fantastic new cars on the UK’s roads.’’
