The year's hottest car! New Nissan Qashqai wins glowing praise from UK media

The reviews are in – and the new Nissan Qashqai has hit the headlines for all the right reasons across the UK’s leading motoring magazines and websites.

Leading the way with the positive coverage is the title that describes itself as ‘‘Britain’s biggest and best car buyer’s guide’’, What Car?

The magazine simply hails new Qashqai as ‘‘the year’s hottest car’’ on the cover of its June issue and describes the launch of the model as ‘‘huge news’’.

Writer Darren Moss explains to readers that Qashqai has been significantly revamped inside and out, with a big upgrade in tech among the changes. He says: ‘‘You won’t struggle to tell the new Qashqai apart from the outgoing model’’ thanks to its more striking front end.

Across a generous six pages in the magazine, Darren reports that new Qashqai’s infotainment system now incorporates Google functionality; on upper trim levels there are ‘‘generous levels of Alcantara suede’’ and he welcomes the retention of physical climate controls – easy to operate on the move.

Other publications have been equally positive about the launch of new Qashqai.

Auto Express focused on the on-board technology that it said had received the most significant upgrades – and highlighted the car’s much sharper design.

Car magazine said Qashqai’s new look would ‘‘strengthen its already firm grip on the compact crossover segment’’ while Autocar said Qashqai’s bold new look would ‘‘bring it into line with the electric ARIYA, boost its efficiency and secure its position as one of Europe’s most popular cars’’.

Over at Sunday Times Driving, writer James Fossdyke highlighted Qashqai's new N-Design trim level, which he said "is intended to accentuate the car's shape with a cleaner, sportier look, and comes with bespoke 20-inch alloy wheels".

Carwow, meanwhile, described Qashqai’s new look as a ‘‘pretty extensive facelift’’ while This is Money summed things up by focusing on its ‘‘bolder exterior design, improved quality interior… and better connectivity thanks to built-in Google.’’

Fleet and dealer focused publications were keen to have their say too. Fleet World highlighted Qashqai's "revamped and sharper-looking headlights and daytime running lights" while Car Dealer Magazine mentioned its "bold look and improved technology".
