Job Title – Used Car Manager
Reporting to: General Manager
Responsible for: Overall used car department performance (volume and profit) and Group
operating Standards.
Supported by: Used Car Director, General Manager, Group functions.
The individual will need to be self-motivated, accurate and consistent in their approach to
the role ensuring best practice is adopted at site with continuous monitoring and
improvement.
The individual should work to achieve the fundamental objectives of the business, which is
to provide an excellent return on investment to the shareholders in a way that is sustainable
and within the bounds of acceptable risk.
Key responsibilities:
• Responsible for sourcing and management of Used Car stock
• Effective pricing and valuation of used car stock.
• Vehicle Appraisal
• Effective management of overage stock
• Understanding Stock Management Principles around stock turn and disposal strategy
• Department P & L
• Monthly budget performance margin and volumes
• Maximise all profit centres
• Accurate reporting of margins and volumes
• Adherence to sales processes.
• Staff training, coaching and development including appraisal training.
• Used car display incl. manufacturer used cars, standards, display and security
• Lead Management (EnqMax and The Hub)

• Business Manager Office Performance
• Daily updates of DOC and brand trackers
• In house purchases through service departments
• Timely turnaround of used car stock for display
• Maintaining group standards for prep
• Timely resolution of any customer complaints
• Adherence to any group policies or legislation
• FCA and trading standards compliance
• Department compliance with statutory, regulatory and Internal Control matters
