Sophie, Rachel and Marc are preparing for a charity skydive

THREE MEMBERS of our staff, who are petrified of heights, are this month (April, 2014) preparing for a charity skydive.

Sophie Truscott and Rachel Perry, who work at our Pennywell Road dealership in Bristol and Marc Jeavons, who is at our Merica Road branch in Gloucester, will be jumping from a plane on April 18 in aid of two charities.

Service Advisor, Sophie, who is 27 and lives in Southmead, explained: “There's not long to go now until we do the skydive and we're all excited and very nervous.

“We have never done anything like this before and thought it would be a great way to help us conquer our fear of heights, while also raising money for our dealership's Charity of the Year at the same time. Rachel and I will be raising money for Penny Brohn Cancer Care and Marc will be jumping in aid of The Leukaemia & Intensive Chemotherapy Fund (LINC)."

Penny Brohn Cancer Care has been helping people living with cancer and their supporters since 1980. Its 'whole-person' approach combines physical and emotional support designed to help sufferers live well with the impact of cancer at any stage of the illness.

LINC supports patients and their families affected by leukaemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers. They are a relativity small charity, which aim to provide financial and psychological support to leukaemia and other cancer patients and their families in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and south Worcestershire.

Thirty-seven-year-old Rachel from Barton Hill, who is the Service Manager at our Pennywell dealership, said: “Penny Brohn Cancer Care do such a great job supporting local people and their families at such a difficult time. We're aiming to raise at least £1,000 for the charity from our skydive.

“To add to our fundraising efforts on the Friday before our skydive our colleagues at the dealership will also be raising money for the charity by hosting a Purple for Penny Day. Staff members will be dressing up in purple and making a donation to the charity."

Sophie and Rachel will be doing a tandem jump on Saturday, April 18 at Old Sarum Airfield in Salisbury with an experienced British Parachute Association Instructor and Marc will do his jump at Swindon Airfield. They will all be free falling from 10,000 feet at 120 miles per hour for about 55 seconds.

Digital Sales Executive, Marc, who is 36 and lives in Churchdown, explained: “LINC are a fantastic charity and do such vital work supporting local people. I hope to raise at least £500 for the charity."

Sophie and Rachel have been asking for sponsorship via and People can also text 'TRUS50 £5' or 'PERR48 £5' to 70070 to donate £5.
