Q. Can I purchase a car during lockdown if I can’t visit any of the dealerships?

Q. Can I visit one of your showrooms?

Unfortunately, all our showrooms are closed under the current guidelines.

Q. Can I look at your used cars before I buy?

Whilst some of our used cars are on display we cannot open them, show you around them or discuss purchases face to face. We recommend only traveling to our locations to collect your car, after purchase.

Q. Can I pay a deposit for a car I want to purchase?

Yes, you can. You can reserve any used car for £100 and this will reserve the car for up to 3 days. The deposit is fully refundable and your deposit will be adjusted from the price of the vehicle if you wish to complete your purchase.

Q. Can I test drive the car before I buy, or pay a deposit?

Unfortunately, owing to Government announcements, you will not be able to test drive a car during lockdown. However, we are offering a 14-day money-back guarantee*, from purchase.

Q. How can I purchase a car completely online?

Our Online Navigators are on hand to help you purchase your car completely online, with our Click & Collect service. All documentation will be completed online, as well as payment transactions. We use a secured verified payment provider which utilises encrypted software, protecting your card payment details. We do not store any of your card details.

Q. How do I collect my car?

We offer a click and collect service or home delivery. If you are collecting your car from us then all the paperwork will need to be completed beforehand and your handover will take place outside - under the current guidelines you may not enter the showroom. Alternatively, arrangements can be made to deliver your car. All handovers are carried out under strict covid-19 safety conditions.

Q. How do I qualify for free home delivery?

Free home delivery will be available if your home address postcode sits within a < 50-mile radius of any of our Showrooms;

If you have purchased your vehicle at a distance and not visited one of our dealerships.

If you change your mind about an order for a vehicle that you have placed online, you can cancel your order at any time before delivery. Please notify us of your decision by sending a clear statement of your intent to enquiries@wessexgarages.com, we will then send you a copy of our cancellation form, for completion.

You may also cancel your order up to 14 days after delivery. However, please note the following important information:

You must return the vehicle to us at your own expense, or alternatively, you can opt to pay us to collect the vehicle from you, which we will charge £1.50 + VAT per mile from the original delivery address to the supplying branch of Wessex Garages.

Any modifications and damage during the time the goods are in your possession will be charged under fair diminishing value terms subject to the extent of the circumstances.

Although you are entitled to test drive the vehicle on delivery, if the vehicle loses any value as a result of handling by you which is not necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the vehicle (for example, if you damage it or run up excessive mileage), we will be entitled to deduct a reduction in value from any reimbursement. Upon return, Wessex Garages will allow 100 miles of usage as reasonable to determine the nature, characteristics and functioning of the vehicle. Mileage in excess of this will be charged at £1 + VAT per mile driven. Any permanent modifications and damage during the time the goods are in your possession will be charged under fair diminishing value terms.

If you have part-exchanged your old vehicle, we will repay to you the value we assigned to the vehicle as part of your purchase, less any payments we have had to make to clear any outstanding finance.

If you originally chose to have the vehicle delivered to you, rather than to collect it from us, we will not reimburse any delivery costs.

If you wish to cancel after delivery, please notify us of your decision by sending a clear statement of your intent to enquiries@wessexgarages.com and we will then send you a copy of our cancellation form for completion. We will reimburse all payments due (subject to any relevant deductions as noted above) within 14 days of the vehicle being returned, using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction (unless we agree otherwise between us). You will agree to return the vehicle to us with a clear title and not subject to lien or encumbrance, whether financial or otherwise.

Cancellation policies for linked insurance, accessories and finance arrangements administered at the point of sale with your vehicle are set out in their respective terms and conditions for each purchase at the time of sale.
